This is the identical listing of exactly what my Grandfather's old meerschaum pipe looks like. I had reno'd and re-stemmed last year. Well identical ....NO. First it is advertised as a wooden pipe which is wrong. The band looks to be original and I'll bet the stem is a replacement as these pipes were all made with amber stems and if not amber some matching yellow mixed amber and plastic.

However if anyone knows anything about the origins of these pipes I would be grateful for the info.

I think the country of origin might be Germany.... probably from the Schwarzwald area as I've seen similarly carved pipes from that region before.
    With kind regards, Bo

Bo any idea about dates of production? Seems there are more in circulation than I thought. My Grandad died in 1962 @ 96 yrs old and relatives suggest he owned the pipe in possibly 1890. He was photo'd with it in 1919 Dawley Shrops England.
